SEO cost in Dubai depends on scope, not on a standard price list. Agencies publish very different monthly figures, so the useful question is what the price buys: how many pages and areas, how much content, which technical fixes, how reporting works and how long you are tied in. Common models are a monthly retainer, a one-off audit or project fee, an hourly rate, or a mix. Nobody can guarantee a first-page ranking. Compare quotes by deliverables, ownership, reporting and exit terms, and ask for the same brief from every provider so the quotes can be compared fairly.
Why you will not find one honest price
Searching for SEO prices in Dubai returns pages that disagree with each other. One agency page we read in October 2026 sets monthly tiers starting at AED 2,000 and rising to AED 12,000, then quotes a separate average that does not clearly match its own table. Its pricing page is worth reading as an example of how packages are described. Another, published by an agency, groups plans from roughly AED 1,500 to 3,500 for basic local work and AED 3,500 to 12,000 for growth plans, with higher figures for competitive sectors. Both are the agencies' own claims, without disclosed data, and the ranges overlap and conflict in places.
That is not a reason to distrust all pricing, only to treat any range as a conversation starter. The differences come from what is included, who does the work, how competitive your market is and how aggressive the promises are. We do not publish ZED prices because they depend on your scope; on this page we explain how to compare any price properly.
The pricing models you will meet
| Model | How it works | Fits best when | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly retainer | A fixed fee for an agreed monthly scope | You need continuous content, technical work and reporting | Vague scope that never changes while your needs do |
| Audit or one-off project | A fixed fee to review the site and deliver a plan or fix list | You want to know where you stand before committing | An audit that is only an automated tool printout |
| Hourly or day rate | You pay for time used | Small fixes, training, specialist advice | No cap, no clear outcomes |
| Per keyword or per page | A price attached to units of work | Rarely a good basis for a plan | Keywords vary hugely in difficulty and value |
| Performance-based | Fee linked to rankings or leads | Only with clear, honest definitions | Rankings that do not equal enquiries, and disputes over measurement |
| In-house hire or freelancer | Salary or contract plus tools | You have steady volume and can manage the person | One person rarely covers technical, content and local skills |
What actually drives the cost
Competition and intent
Ranking for a phrase that many well-funded companies target needs more content, authority and time than ranking for a local service in a district. Real estate, legal and medical searches are usually tougher than a niche local service, so ask the provider to show how they judged the difficulty of your market.
Size and structure of the site
Ten pages need a different plan from two hundred. Multiple services, multiple emirates or branches mean multiple pages and profiles. Our local SEO guide for Dubai shows how areas and services multiply the work.
Language
Writing in both Arabic and English, with native-quality copy, takes more time than a single language. Do not accept machine-translated pages as a bargain.
Technical condition
A slow or broken site may need fixes before content can help. Google publishes its Core Web Vitals targets: a main-content load time within 2.5 seconds, interaction response of 200 milliseconds or less and a layout shift of 0.1 or lower, measured at the 75th percentile of visits. A provider who ignores speed on a slow site is guessing.
Content volume and quality
Google says unique, helpful, people-first content is likely the most influential factor on its side of the fence, as set out in the SEO starter guide. Content that is researched, accurate and written for your customers costs more than filler, and filler rarely pays back.
Local profile work
For service businesses, a well-managed Business Profile is a large part of visibility; see Google Business Profile optimization. It is usually cheaper than heavy content programs and should be in the first scope.
Reporting, tools and account management
Dashboards, call tracking and monthly meetings take time. A cheap package may leave them out, which is acceptable only if you know what you are not getting.
Choose a starting model with this decision framework
Answer four questions honestly, then use the result as a brief for quotes.
- What is the job of SEO for you. Calls and WhatsApp enquiries for local services, product sales, or brand awareness? The job decides which pages and metrics matter.
- How strong is your base. If the site is slow, thin or has no tracking, start with an audit and fixes, not a long retainer.
- How fast do you need leads. If you need enquiries next month, pair SEO with Google Ads. Our Google Ads vs SEO comparison explains the timing difference.
- How much can you manage. A retainer needs approvals, photos, facts and feedback from you. If you cannot supply them, the work will stall regardless of price.
- Pick the model. Weak base: audit first. Clear base and steady need: retainer with defined deliverables. One-off problem: hourly or project fee.
- Set a review date. Agree what you will examine at 30, 60 and 90 days so you do not judge by gut feeling.

How to compare quotes line by line
Give every provider the same brief: your services, areas, languages, website address and goal. Then lay the replies side by side using this checklist.
- Deliverables: number of pages, articles, profile tasks and technical fixes per month, written down.
- Keywords and areas: why these targets, and how they connect to calls rather than traffic.
- Link practices: a clear statement that they do not buy or exchange links in bulk.
- Reporting: what you see, how often, and whether calls and WhatsApp enquiries are included.
- Access and ownership: your Search Console, analytics, hosting and content stay in your name.
- Contract: minimum term, notice period, what happens to content if you leave.
- People: who actually does the work, and whether it is subcontracted.
- Exclusions: what costs extra, such as design changes, translation or ad spend.
Red flags straight from Google
Google's guidance on hiring an SEO lists warnings: guaranteed number-one rankings, claims of a special relationship with Google, secrecy about what is being done, link popularity schemes and unsolicited emails offering help. It also advises asking for past work, the expected results and timeframe, and how success is measured. If an audit is requested, give read-only access to Search Console rather than write access.
A worked comparison (hypothetical)
These figures are invented to demonstrate the method. A physiotherapy clinic receives three quotes: A at AED 2,500 a month, B at AED 6,000 and C at AED 9,500. A lists a keyword count and promises page-one rankings. B lists four service pages, two articles, Business Profile management and monthly call reporting. C lists everything in B plus Arabic versions of all content and a link program.
The clinic ignores price first and asks what is delivered. A has no deliverables beyond keywords and a guarantee, which is a red flag. B and C are comparable, but C includes bilingual work. The clinic only needs English for now, and it asks C what the link program involves. The answer is vague, so it chooses B with a clause to add Arabic later. The decision came from scope and risk, not from the lowest or highest number.
Cost mistakes owners make
- Buying on price alone: the cheapest quote often hides what is missing.
- Paying for rankings instead of enquiries: rankings that bring no calls are decoration.
- Skipping tracking: without counting calls and WhatsApp messages you cannot judge any price. See tracking calls and WhatsApp leads.
- Locking into long contracts too early: start with a shorter scope that proves the working relationship.
- Ignoring the website: SEO on a poor site wastes money; compare with the costs in our website maintenance cost guide.
- Forgetting ad budgets are separate: if you also advertise, see Google Ads cost in the UAE.
SEO is rarely the only line in a marketing budget. If you plan to run paid campaigns as well, compare the budgeting logic in Google Ads cost in the UAE and our Google Ads service. If the website itself needs rebuilding before SEO can work, read our web design in Dubai page and the guide to website maintenance cost, because hosting, updates and fixes are part of the real total.
How we work at ZED
We do not publish a price list for SEO because the scope changes the price. On our site we describe SEO as more than one page: it needs a solid site structure and complete content that covers service details, areas and districts customers search for, and we state that we do not buy spam links. Our SEO service is aimed at local organic visibility, including service searches in Google Maps, and sits alongside websites, campaigns and call tracking in one system. You can see how this fits together on our SEO service page and, for Dubai specifically, the SEO agency in Dubai page. For Saudi readers, we also cover SEO services cost in Saudi Arabia.
To get a quote, send your site, services and areas on WhatsApp. We will tell you what we would check first and what a first scope might include.
Frequently asked questions
How much does SEO cost in Dubai per month?
Published figures vary a lot. The two agency pages we reviewed describe entry-level local SEO in the low thousands of dirhams per month and fuller programs several times higher, but they are self-published and unsourced. The real number depends on your competition, number of services and areas, content volume and how much technical work is needed.
Is cheap SEO in Dubai worth it?
It can be if the scope is small and honest, for example setting up a Business Profile and fixing basic page issues. It is risky when a very low price promises page-one rankings, large keyword lists or hundreds of links, because low-quality tactics can harm a site. Ask for the exact deliverables.
Can an agency guarantee first-page rankings?
No. Google states that no one can guarantee a top ranking and lists guarantees or a special relationship with Google as red flags when hiring an SEO. A reliable agency explains the work, the expected effort, how progress is measured and what is outside its control.
How long does SEO take to show results?
Google says changes can take anywhere from a few hours to several months to appear, and suggests waiting a few weeks to judge a change. Local searches with weak competition may move sooner than competitive national terms. Treat early months as foundation work and agree what you will review at 30, 60 and 90 days.
Should I pay per keyword, per hour or a monthly retainer?
A monthly retainer suits ongoing content and technical work, an hourly or project fee suits audits and one-off fixes, and per-keyword pricing is hard to judge because keywords differ in difficulty and value. Choose the model that matches the stage your business is in.
Is it cheaper to do SEO in-house or through an agency?
In-house gives control and context but requires hiring or training someone with technical, content and local search skills, plus tools. An agency brings a team but needs clear briefing. Many owners start with an agency for the foundation and then decide what to keep in-house.
What should be in an SEO quote?
A scope of work, the pages and areas covered, the content volume, technical fixes, reporting format and frequency, contract length, what is excluded, who owns the accounts and content, and how you can leave. If a quote is only a package name and a price, ask for the details.
Do I need SEO or Google Ads first?
If you need leads immediately, ads usually start faster, while SEO builds visibility over time. Many service businesses use both, with tracking to see which brings the better enquiries. Our comparison of Google Ads and SEO explains how to decide.
