Quick answer

Social media marketing cost in Dubai depends on scope, not on a standard price. The main drivers are the number of platforms, monthly content volume, the share of short-form video, whether copy is written in both Arabic and English, daily comment and DM handling, and whether paid ads are managed. Advertising spend is paid to the platforms and should sit outside the agency fee. Because published ranges are rarely sourced, the safest way to judge a quote is to split it into management fee, production, media spend and tools, then compare providers item by item and check that reports track calls and WhatsApp enquiries.

Why two Dubai social media quotes can differ by a factor of ten

Ask three providers in Dubai for a social media price and you will usually get three numbers that look impossible to compare. One quote covers twelve designed posts a month. Another includes a monthly video shoot, Arabic and English copy, daily comment replies and Meta ad management. A third bundles influencer coordination. They are all called "social media management", yet they describe very different amounts of work.

That is the real reason published price ranges are so wide. Several Dubai agency blogs publish tiers, but they rarely explain how the figures were collected, and most do not say whether advertising spend is included. Instead of adding another unverified range, this guide gives you a way to break any quote into its parts, so you can see what you are paying for and decide which parts your business actually needs.

The cost of social media marketing in Dubai is the sum of four separate buckets. Mixing them up is the most common budgeting mistake we see owners make:

  1. Management fee – planning, copywriting, design, scheduling, community replies and reporting. This is what the provider keeps.
  2. Production cost – filming days, editing, voice-over, models or presenters, location fees. Sometimes inside the fee, often billed separately.
  3. Media (ad) spend – the money paid directly to Meta, TikTok, Snapchat or LinkedIn to reach people. This goes to the platform, not the agency.
  4. Tools and third parties – scheduling or listening software, stock assets, music licences, influencer fees.

When a proposal shows a single monthly figure, your first job is to ask how it splits across these four buckets.

The scope units that drive a social media management cost in Dubai

Every quote is built from a handful of scope units. Change any one of them and the price moves. Use the table below as a worksheet: fill in the right-hand column for each provider you speak to.

Scope unitWhat to clarifyWhy it moves the priceYour note
PlatformsWhich accounts are actively managed (Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, LinkedIn, Facebook)? Each platform needs its own format, size and posting rhythm; reusing one design everywhere rarely works.
Content volumeNumber of posts, stories and short videos per month, per platformVolume is the largest driver of design and copy hours.
Static vs video mixHow many items are Reels/TikToks, and who films them?A short video involves a script, filming, editing and captions; a static design does not.
LanguagesArabic, English or both; translated or written separately?Writing natively in two languages roughly doubles copy work compared with a direct translation.
Community managementComment and DM replies: which hours, which days, who handles complaints?Daily replies are ongoing labour, not a one-off task.
Paid media managementIs ad setup and optimisation included, and up to what spend level?Running campaigns, audiences and creative tests is a separate skill set.
ReportingMonthly report contents and whether it shows calls, WhatsApp chats or bookingsConnecting social activity to enquiries requires tracking setup.
ApprovalsHow many revision rounds per item?Unlimited revisions are a hidden cost the provider prices in.

Once you have this grid filled for two or three providers, the "cheap" and "expensive" quotes often turn out to be close on a per-item basis. The difference is in how much they deliver.

A worked example: pricing the work, not the label

The figures below are entirely hypothetical and exist only to show the method. Suppose a family dental practice in Dubai wants Instagram and TikTok, in Arabic and English, with paid campaigns aimed at booking consultations.

  • Monthly scope: 8 static posts, 4 short videos, 12 stories, bilingual captions, weekday comment and DM replies, one Meta campaign.
  • Production: one half-day shoot per month at the clinic to capture footage for the four videos.
  • Media spend: a fixed amount the owner decides, paid on the clinic's own card inside its own ad account.

Now ask each provider to price the management fee and the shoot as separate lines, and to confirm that media spend is outside their fee. If Provider A quotes one number and Provider B quotes three lines, you can still compare them by asking A to break its figure down using the same lines. If a provider will not break it down, that tells you something about how transparent the reporting will be later.

Healthcare and regulated sectors

Clinics, pharmacies and financial services face extra rules on what ads may say and whom they may target. Meta publishes its rules in the Meta Advertising Standards. Content in these sectors usually needs more review time, which affects the hours behind any quote. Our page on marketing for aesthetic clinics covers this in more detail.

In-house hire, freelancer or agency: what each model really costs you

Price is only one dimension. The table compares the three common models on the things that decide whether social media produces enquiries.

FactorIn-house employeeFreelancerAgency
Cost structureSalary, visa, insurance, equipment, softwarePer project or monthly retainerMonthly retainer, sometimes plus production
Skills coveredUsually one person: strategy, design, video and ads rarely all at a high levelOften strong in one skill (design or video)Several specialists: copy, design, video, ads, tracking

Best fitHigh-volume brands posting daily with an internal approval chainSmall budgets, a defined task such as a content batchOwners who want content, ads and measurement run as one system

A hybrid is also common: an internal coordinator who films day-to-day moments, with an agency handling strategy, editing, ads and reporting. For many service businesses this gives authentic footage without paying for a full in-house team.

How to read a social media proposal line by line

Before you sign, run the proposal through this checklist. Each item protects you from a cost that tends to surface only after month two.

  • The monthly deliverables are written as numbers per platform, not "regular posting".
  • Media spend is clearly listed as outside the management fee and paid into an ad account you own.
  • Your business is the owner of the Meta business portfolio, the TikTok and Snapchat ad accounts and all page logins; the provider is added as a partner.
  • Production days, editing and music licences are either included or priced per unit.
  • Response hours for comments and DMs are stated, including weekends and Ramadan hours if relevant.
  • The report shows enquiries (calls, WhatsApp chats, form leads), not only reach and followers.
  • Revision rounds per item are defined.
  • Notice period and what you receive on exit (raw footage, design files, ad audiences) are written down.
  • Influencer work, if any, uses creators who hold the UAE Advertiser Permit (see below).

Influencer fees and the UAE Advertiser Permit

Influencer collaborations are a separate cost line and should never be hidden inside a management fee. In July 2025 the UAE Media Council announced an Advertiser Permit for individuals who publish promotional content on social media; The National reported (July 2025) that companies should only work with licensed creators and that the licence number must appear on the account. Ask any provider who proposes influencers to confirm each creator's permit status, and check the Media Council's current guidance yourself. This is general information, not legal advice.

What makes the spend worth it: measuring enquiries, not likes

A social budget is only expensive if you cannot see what it returns. For a service business in Dubai, the useful numbers are enquiries: how many people tapped to call, opened WhatsApp, or booked. Followers and reach are inputs; they are not the result you are paying for.

That requires a few things to be set up before content goes live:

  1. Each ad sends people to a destination that matches its message, such as a dedicated service page or a WhatsApp chat with a pre-filled text that names the campaign.
  2. Calls and WhatsApp clicks on your website are recorded as conversions, using GA4 and the platform pixels. Our guide to tracking calls and WhatsApp clicks as conversions walks through the setup.
  3. Your team logs where each booking came from, even with a simple "how did you hear about us" question.
  4. Monthly decisions (more video, fewer static posts, a new audience) are made from that data.

When you can see cost per enquiry from social, you can compare it fairly with search ads. For that comparison, read our breakdown of what drives Google Ads costs in the UAE. Many service businesses find that search catches people who are ready to book, while social builds familiarity and retargets visitors; budgets work best when both are planned together.

How we work at ZED on social media budgets

At ZED Marketing our single goal is real phone calls and WhatsApp enquiries, so we plan social media around that goal rather than around follower counts. We follow the same five-step method we use for every channel:

  1. Read how your customers search and decide: the service, the problem and the area they mention.
  2. Decide which services deserve their own content series and landing destination.
  3. Write each piece of content for one intent, ending with one clear step: call, WhatsApp or booking.
  4. Connect each campaign to the page or chat that matches its intent, not always the homepage.
  5. Measure calls, WhatsApp and forms through conversion tracking for GA4 and ad platforms, and change the plan based on recorded data.

Our social media management service covers content and account management for companies and clinics, and our short-form video scripting and production handles the Reels and TikToks that usually make the biggest difference in a quote. You can see examples of our work in the ZED social content project. We do not publish fixed packages; send us your platforms, languages and goals and we reply with an initial plan and quote.

Frequently asked questions

Is ad spend included in a social media management fee in Dubai?

Usually not, and it should not be. Media spend is paid directly to Meta, TikTok, Snapchat or LinkedIn, ideally from an ad account and payment method your business owns. The management fee covers planning, content, setup and optimisation. If a quote combines both in one number, ask for them to be separated so you know how much actually reaches your audience.

Why do bilingual Arabic and English accounts cost more?

Writing natively for two audiences takes more time than translating one caption. Tone, references, hashtags and even the hook of a video often change between Arabic and English speakers in the UAE. Some businesses post in both languages on one account; others run a lead language with selected bilingual posts. Your audience mix should decide which approach you pay for.

How many posts per month does a small Dubai business need?

There is no fixed number that guarantees enquiries. A consistent rhythm that your team can support, with a mix of short videos, useful posts and stories, matters more than volume. Start with what you can produce at good quality, measure which formats bring calls or WhatsApp chats, then increase the formats that work rather than posting more of everything.

Should I sign a long contract for social media management?

Check the notice period and exit terms before committing. A sensible agreement states the monthly deliverables, what happens to files and footage if you leave, and confirms that all pages and ad accounts stay in your name. A minimum period can be reasonable because content and ads need time to learn, but you should be able to review results against agreed measures.

Can I pay only for content and run the ads myself?

Yes, many owners do this. Make sure the content is produced in the formats and sizes each ad placement needs, and that you set up conversion tracking so you can see which ads lead to calls or WhatsApp messages. Without tracking, it is difficult to know whether the ads or the content need improving.

What should a monthly social media report include?

At minimum: deliverables published versus planned, ad spend and results per campaign, and the number of enquiries attributed to social media, such as calls, WhatsApp chats and form leads. Reach and engagement are useful context, but a report that shows only those numbers cannot tell you whether the budget is paying for itself.

Do influencers need a permit to advertise for my business in the UAE?

According to reporting on the UAE Media Council announcement in July 2025, individuals publishing promotional content need an Advertiser Permit, and companies are expected to work with licensed creators. Ask your provider to confirm permit status for every creator and check the Media Council's current guidance. This is general information, not legal advice.
